Boka Bay
Boka Bay
The very essence of the Mediterranean lifestyle
Boka Bay is the southernmost European fjord, an exceptional cultural landscape defined by scenic nature and stunning architectural formations. This particular bay is found on the Club’s list of the most breathtaking bays in the world. Due to its incredible universal, cultural and natural values, the region of Kotor which encompasses the Kotor and Risan part of the bay is protected on the UNESCO list of world heritage.
Every small community of the Bay has its own urban and cultural characteristics, achieving unity and continuity of the cultural heritage of the whole region. These communities have pioneered sacred architecture that has further developed into various artistic influences, especially romanticism and baroque, while the traditional Boka houses have remained true to Mediterranean, Western and Eastern influences.
